My Continuing Journey Truth or Consequences New Mexico and the Spaceport Authority

It started many years ago, when I read about the Spaceport Authority being located in southern New Mexico. I have always been interested in space, space travel the exciting prospects of commercial space flight. I remember that day like it was yesterday, I was reading the article, and I stated, " I would wash the shitters just to be able to be there."

Like I said that was many years ago. I would have to go back into the Spaceport history to find out when it was first being discussed publicly. Life marched on and I forgot about the Spaceport Authority. But, my higher self evidently did not.

Several months ago, I read on my facebook a friend was invited to a healers gathering in Hopper Co. She didn't think she could make it, her mobility issues required her to be able to lay down, during a long trip. So, I volunteered to swing down and pick her up.

I was leaving Hutchinson Kansas and I took 54 down to Ok, through Tx on into New Mexcico.

I was having issues with the 1981 Ford Mobile Traveler that I just purchased. By the time I got to Tecumcari, I was cutting out and loosing power. I called my progressive insurance and got a tow to a local garage. They explained to me, the rv was vaopor locking, and if i drove at night during the coolest part, I should be able to make it to Truth or Consequences.

I continued my journey, I had to stop along the way many times. Since I was driving at night, I was missing out on the landscape. As i putted again to another stop and cool down, I took a deep breath and reminded my self that it was not the destination but the journey that counted.

Being a star gazer all my life, the beauty that was overhead was breathtaking. It was my first experience at that altitude. No light pollution, clear skies, high altitude, all lent to the most breathtaking of visuals that ever, I laid my eyes upon. I had only in vain imaginations, pictured night time sky such as this. No, longer was I on a escape route out of Kansas, I was a little girl looking at the night stars for the first time in my life. After many hours of star gazing, I climbed back into the rv, and took off down the road again, with a new appreciation of the life that laid ahead of me. I think I knew at that moment, this was not just a vacation trip, but a new start to a new life.

After I was settled in to town a little, found a reasonable priced rv park, and got to know the people I came here to meet, I discovered that the Spaceport Authority was here. When I read that article, many years ago, evidently my intent, and desire was fueled by stronger emotion then even I was aware of. Because here I am.

The Spaceport Authority is going almost ready for full operations. As I learn more I will be writing more blogs about it. The Spaceport Authority is just one of the many delights that await the travel in New Mexcio.
